2008 Events and Projects:

Our Fall Dime-A-Day campaign raises awareness of the plight of orphan Kenyan children and raises funds for meals. One dime will feed an orphan child a meal of rice and beans and keep them from starving. One dime won't even buy a gumball in America. 100% of the funds raised through this campaign go directly to Kenya to provide meals for the children of Tumaini Mpya (New Hope in Swahilli).

Our Fall campaign kicks off the week of November 10th in Oceanside at Vista High School through FCA, CSF and the Key Club and through InterVarsity at MIraCosta College. For information on how your school or organization can make a difference for these kids, contact info@newhopekenya.org.

Nairobi Nights, our Summer event in Newport Beach brought us to our goal of funding the new Security Wall in Kisumu. Thanks to all who contributed, with a special thanks to Shirley and Peter Marr for hosting the event and to the Kling Foundation for their generous grant. We are moving forward with plans to begin construction on the wall in November. If all goes as planned, the children from the toxic slums of Nairobi will move to Kisumu in December before the new school year begins in January 2009. Click here for more info and photos

Recent cholera outbreak at Kisumu. The children in Kisumu have had a very difficult year starting with the violence and terror they experienced in January and February. The latest challenge was a dangerous bout with cholera in June. This gravely effected all the children and was a very difficult period for Lucas and the children. Thankfully, all are well now and steps have been taken to help keep them safe and healthy at school and at other locations they visit. Our gratitude to New Hope partners who donated funds for medicine and the Kisumu doctor who cared for the children during the crisis.

Dessert d'Elegance, our Spring event kicked off fundraising for the security wall in Kisumu. Click here for more info and photos

The Spring Dime-A-Day campaign at Santana High School raised almost $500, providing 5,000 meals for Kenyan children. Great job Santana! Read more...

New Hope for Kenyan Children

We are supporting 60 Kenyan orphans through fundraising and donations in the U.S. These children now have a safe home, food, education and a hope for their future! Our sponsorship program is underway to allow New Hope friends to sponsor our Kenyan orphans in order to ensure their health, food, educational and spiritual needs are being met.

2004 was a special year for New Hope Children's Community, Inc.

We incorporated as an international charity and received our 501(c)3 status in the U.S. We sent clothing, toiletries and school supplies to the children in Kenya, raised funds to drill the well in Kisumu, and sent thousands of dollars for food and teachers salaries at New Hope. It is truly a blessing to be able to impact the lives of these children halfway around the world!
